Prison Break's Fichtner Joins Cast Of Batman Begins Sequel

Subsequent to his inclusion on Prison Break, actor William Fichtner has acquired movie projects like Ultraviolet (2006) and Blades of Glory (2007).

Now, he is set to work on another film entitled The Dark Knight, which is the highly anticipated sequel to Batman Begins.

Last July, Warner Bros. Pictures made public that actor Christian Bale would relive his role as Batman in the upcoming movie The Dark Knight. Joining Bale in the sci-fi film are actors Heath Ledger, who will be portraying his infamous enemy Joker, Gary Oldman as Lieutenant James Gordon, one of the few uncorrupted police officers in Gotham City, Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent, the district attorney of Gotham, Michael Cane as Alfred Pennyworth, the ever reliable butler of Bruce Wayne, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, the recently promoted CEO of Waynes Enterprises, Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes, Harvey Dents assistant, Eric Roberts as Mafia Kingpin and last but not the least, William Fichtner as Gotham Citys bank manager.

The Dark Knight will continue to project themes such as revenge, Bruce Wayne s father issues and justice. Having the artistic direction of Christopher Nolan would ensure that Robin, Batmans sidekick, would be excluded in the franchise since the director aims to center the plot on the young Batman.

The movie, which will be shot in Chicago, London, Los Angeles, Baltimore and even in Hong Kong, is co-written by Christopher Nolan himself, his brother Jonathan Nolan, and David S. Goyer. The Dark Knight, which is currently in production, will be released in July 2008.

Fichtner, a 50-year old native of East Meadow, New York, graduated from State University of New York with a degree in criminal justice. He currently plays Agent Alexander Mahone on Prison Break. Prior to his inclusion on Prison Break, he worked in films like Heat, Crash, Black Hawk Down, Go, Contact and Armageddon.
