Los Angeles is one of the largest ethnically diverse cities in the United States. In 2007, the population consisted of a large population of white and Hispanic or Latino (of every race). This could be one of the reasons contributing to the high divorce rates.
It is known that divorces among Christian, Jewish and Muslim couples are skyrocketing. Seniors are divorcing after decades of marriage and couples that have built businesses together are divorcing. The fastest growing segment of divorcing couples today are those of the same sex. No one, however, seems to be immune from this trend. There has been some speculation that couples that socialize with couples whose marriage ends in divorce tend to re-evaluate their marriages and often divorce to.
